- Take 3 fish fillets (I have used chonak/ giant sea perch/ sea bass)
- Take 1 tsp salt
- Make ready 1 tsp red chilli powder
- Get 3/4 tsp turmeric powder
- Prepare 1-2 tsp water
- Prepare As required Oil for shallow frying
Steps to make Goan Rava Fried Fish:
- Measure the chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt in a bowl. We are making the marinade separately to prevent the fillets from breaking.
- For variation you may also add some ginger garlic paste.
- Add water and mix into a thick paste. Avoid adding too much water as the fish will release some water post application of the marinade.
- Apply the marinade to the fish and rest for 15-30 mins.
- Next heat a pan and add some oil for shallow frying. Take rava in a plate. Place the fish fillet in it to coat one side. Next coat the other side. Dust off excess by gently shaking the fillet and place it on the tawa.
- Fry on medium- low heat for about 5-8 mins till brown spots develop. Then turn and cook on the other side. Add more oil if required. You know it's done when it develops brown spots on the other side and the marinade is cooked.
