Just coat okra with beaten egg and then seasoned corn meal, corn flour, or You can fry the pods whole, but there's nothing wrong with cutting the okra into bite-size pieces. Traditionally fried okra is sliced thin and breaded in a cornmeal batter. I've put a little spin on it I have to serve my fried okra with a generous douse of homemade hot pepper vinegar (which I keep in. Fried okra is a staple in Texas and the south, and everyone has their own way to make it. They are all good to me. In fact, I can't recall ever meeting a plate or bowl of fried okra that I didn't like.
