- Now add soaked Dal and Rice to the sauted vegetables.
- Saute this again for another minute. This step is very important as this will ensure added flavour to the Khichdi.
- Now add 2 cups water if you want a normal consistency Khichdi and 2.5 cups of water if you want a runny Khichdi.
- Please note that I have used standard size of cups and spoons for this recipe.
- Now cover the pressure cooker with lid and let 3 whistles come at high flame then switch the flame to low and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Open the lid of the cooker only after the steam is gone completely.
- Mix with a ladle and add coriander and lemon juice in it.
- Now mix everything very nicely and keep on mashing it because Khichdi tastes better when they are mashed.
- Serve it hot with pickle and papad!
